St.Patrick's Dinner

The Rotary Club of Umhlatuzana held a highly successful fund raising dinner in aid of its charity projects on Sat. 15/3 at Capers.

A spirit of fellowship and fun permeated the evening which was characterised by Irish jokes, traditional Irish food and drink and hearty community singing of well known Irish ballads.

Two attractive young dancers in beautiful authentic Irish dance costumes contributed to the proceedings, much to everyone's enjoyment.

The decor had a distinctly Irish motif and a merry time was had by all.

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER - 8 November 2007

Based directly upon the Champagne Murders party game, this exciting event held on a night full of mystery, deception & murder took place at Hemingways Restaurant on 8 November 2007. The event was orchestrated by Rotarian Wally Pelser, with proceeds going toward current Rotary Projects. All attendees were allocated a specific role which they were to portray in full dress and character!

So, who killed Lord Michael Jagged? Well, there can be only one killer, and each table, with it's own set of Champagne Murder characters, was given the daunting task of figuring out who the culprit was. Not an easy job, despite the assistance of Austin McClue, the archetypal 1960s flamboyant character with an uncanny similarity to a certain 1960s spy... 'Groovy, Baby!! "

It was an incredibly fun evening, with plenty of laughter, amusement and some rather interesting accents...

London to Paris Cycling Expedition
Percy Govender

Cycling from London to Paris was an incredible experience for us, especially coming from South Africa. The ride commenced in the city of London, cycling through the picturesque English Kent countyside to small villages and medieval market towns of northern France. We thoroughly enjoyed cycling through France, taking in the beautiful scenery and notwithstanding  the long days on the saddle with some strenuous hill climbs.

The grand finale was cycling down the Champs Elysees to the finishing point at the Infamous  Eiffel Tower. At the end this cycle challenge was a huge sense of achievement to help contribute to a good, charitable cause.
